Why do you think so many people (2 million) went to Washington to witness this event? I mean it's 20 degrees, crowded, and many of the viewpoints have....no view!! Combine this with the fact there are only 5,000 or so port-o-johns........
People want to witness historic events, no matter what; they want to witness the first african american person to be elected to the presidential office.
I think that so many people went, because this is the start of change. It is one of the hardest times America has gone through. Also Obama is the first African American president to make it into office.
I think so many people arrived in Washingon for the Inauguration of Barack Obama because he is the very first african-american president the United States has ever had. (it's a historical moment/day)
well if it was me, i would go, just because it's 20 degrees, crowded, an so many view points doesn't mean it's going to go see once in a life time experience and watch our 44th black president be elected.
If your really consider it there are a lot of crazy people who go to great lengths to see things. and the president is no exception. i personally only go outside in 20 degree weather if i absolutly have to, i would never stand outdise to see the inauguration when i can watch the same thing on my couch. yah know?
I would've loved to be there and witness such a historic event. Many people were there to watch a great man enter the office of president and help America back to power. They were there to show their faith in Barrack and America.
they wanted to witness a part of history so that they can tell their kids and their grand kids and maybe even be on the news one day for witnessing this historic event
